Chief Financial Officer
Christine Tervalon-Garrett, Chief Financial Officer, is a Black, center of masculine, lesbian, and political operative and labor organizer. Before serving as Chief Financial Officer at DHC, Christine has spent nearly a decade advocating for Union workers and working-class communities to reach economic freedom, healthy working conditions and a thriving democracy. Christine has worked as a Painter with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades for nearly 15 years before being asked to take leadership in her Union. Christine organized for the AFL-CIO Alameda Labor Council, AFL-CIO San Mateo Labor Council and International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers to help build power for workers, win ballot initiatives, and get progressive candidates elected. Given her strong track record of successful power building for Union workers, Christine was hired to work for the Building Trades Council of Alameda County as a Business Representative. In that role, she represented over 28,000 Union workers in both private and public sector contract negotiations.
